Hi Graphics Team,
ReplyDeleteVery good idea to set up your team's blog in order for me to know what each of you are doing. Based in the information given I'm assuming each of the members will then show me in your individual blogs the progress you have had in relationship to these tasks.
I have two questions in regards to the tasks given this week:
Is there really a need for tickets? (considering the fact that you are not charging for the entrance to the exhibition). Wouldn't it be better to use graphics and style of underground tickets for promotional purpose (i.e.give-aways)?
Have you decided the final format of your individual boards?
Based in the information provided by Alan and knowing with exactly the amount of panels and their measurements, what was the final decission for the individual board formats? I would recommend you to make them not smaller than A2 (A3 x 2) or bigger than A1 (A3 x 4). In that way you don't spend so much money and, at the same time, you still have enough area to work with and make your projects look good.
But, remember to check how many panels would you end up needing from Alan and if he has enough to support you with. In any case, I have brought to Uni the display book I told you about. Hope you can find something useful in it in case you want (or you need) to make your own display. That might be another important task for this following week: think about ways or design solutions for your display.
Third and last question: Is the information for the invites already done?
This might be the most urgent task for this particular stage of the exhibition. Do you have a final guest list from the Exhibition Team? Do you have the information that will be included in the invitations? If not, I encourage you to contact the Exhibition team and ask them to provide it as soon as possible in order for you to start working in it.
Hope this helps and see you on Friday.
Mariana.

ReplyDeleteThe tickets are the invites. Richard has already created them in Photoshop and has printed some samples in cardboard. They are accurate copies of actual tickets with all the information changed to suit our purpose and are quite impressive.
As for the displays. It's really up to you to decide how they are shared between the groups. Alan has said he can provide a maximum of 8 and we need them all.
Can you find out how many we can actually have please?
Thanks,
Paul.
Hi Paul,
ReplyDeleteCan you please let me know if your team has printed out the posters for the exhibition. These posters need to be out for this week in order to let students know about it.
Another very important point for this and next week (not later than next Tuesday please): printed version and PDF version of invitations need to be handed to Exhibition team leader so they can be sent to companies and (the printed ones) to be given to each member of the group so they can hand them out to family and friends. I put as a deadline next Tuesday to give enough time to people to get organized and be able to make it to your exhibition (particularly companies to come to your Opening Night).
Good luck with that and see you on Friday.
Mariana.
